YOUNG APOSTLES OF CHRIST (YAC)
Young Apostles of Christ (YAC) is a movement launched in the year 2000 by the Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians (MSMHC) on the occasion of the Sixth General Chapter of the Congregation. The movement is based at Hatigaon, Guwahati with its Provincial Headquarter in Shillong, Tinsukia, Tezpur, Kolkata and Bangalore involving hundreds of youths and students with the primary focus on bringing the light of Christ to many who have not known him.

The YAC movement of St. Margaret’s Higher Secondary School functions well and the members are involved in charitable activities like visiting the poor and the sick people, homes for the orphans etc.

YCS: Young Catholic Students (YCS) association undertake charitable programs like visiting the sick, helping the poor through the distribution of clothes and money and visiting orphanages. This association helps them to deepen their faith in God, their love for the poor and make them socially committed and tolerant persons in the society. Students are also motivated to develop leadership qualities, overall personality and to contribute towards social change.

The YCS was initiated in the school on March 19, 1989 with 9 students enrolling as members. Since then the movement has been growing tremendously both qualitatively and quantitatively.

LEADERSHIP TRAINING SERVICES (LTS)
Leadership Training Services (LTS) is an international youth association around schools and colleges commenced during the year 1959 to impart training to the young students, who are the future leaders of the country. With its motto “For God and the World”, the LTS was initiated into St. Margaret’s School on April 28th, 1998 with 24 students enrolling as its first members. The association is vibrant in the school with activities that enable them to become proficient leaders of tomorrow. It gives them ample opportunity to develop their spiritual, moral, social, cultural and literary skills besides inculcating in them deep sense of patriotism and national integration. The LTSers have brought home many laurels over the years for their untiring zeal and wholehearted participation.

BHARAT SCOUTS & GUIDES:
Guides aim to build and develop young people’s confidence, sense of adventure and outdoor skills, as well as encouraging them to explore their beliefs, attitudes and creativity. Encouraged by Fr. Mathew Vellankel, Guides was initiated in St. Margaret’s Higher Secondary School on October 11th 1993 with the first group of 54 girls enrolled into Guides cadets.

Guides are encouraged to work together and take the lead on all sorts of projects, from community based work to planning games and activities for their meetings.

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)
National Service Scheme (NSS) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India, popularly known as NSS was launched on Gandhiji’s Birth Centenary Year 1969; in 37 Universities involving 40,000 students with primary focus on the development of the personality of students through community service. The School’s National Service Scheme was launched in 2015 with approximately over 150 Higher Secondary students enrolled as its first members. The association has been very actively involved in community-oriented services like cleaning drives inside and outside the school campus, and has also rendered its services through charity work and providing aids to those in need in times of natural disasters.
