Science Laboratories

A school science laboratory is a place where basic experimental skills are learnt by systematically performing a set of prescribed and suitably designed experiment. Performing experiments by one’s own hands is not only a thrilling experience but it’s also important because it entails learning by doing.

Our science lab consists of all the branches of science i.e. physics, chemistry and biology. All the labs are well equipped so as to acquaint the learners with basic tools and techniques required to understand concepts and to develop their problem solving skills.

Here students enhance their analytical skills which helped them to interpret data to arrive at plausible solution.

In our Labs the basic skills of measurement are developed by enabling the students of class VI-XII to handle some common measuring instruments, equipment and chemicals, setting simple apparatus, handling microscope and preparing slides, making observations, collecting data and presenting in the appropriate format, interpreting and drawing conclusions, preparation of reports etc. are taught.

Our labs have sufficient instruments, equipment and chemicals so as to meet at least every student’s needs. Here all students individually perform their experiment and draw their own conclusion which the respective teacher monitors and grades the students accordingly.

Here students can bring forward all that they have learned in theory into practical happening.

Power physics lab is well-equipped with instruments of all kinds to cope with the Syllabus of Class 11 and Class 12. It has sufficient instruments so that every student can perform their experiment individually. From optical instruments like travelling microscope, LCR, lens and mirror formula setup, glass slab, prism, Mirrors, electrical and electronic gadgets like metre Bridge, Potentiometer, to other measuring instruments like ammeter, voltmeter, spectrometer, spring balance, common balance, digital balance etc. Numerous charts related to their syllabus are also illustrated so that they can visualize their theory work with practical exposure.

Many more minor experimental needs like pendulum Hooke’s law verification, sonometer, magnets, magnetic compass are also available to understand their construction and use.

The physics lab enables the student to practically experience their theory learning with its application which enables them to understand concepts better.

A laboratory is a place where the rooms are equipped mainly for scientific experiments, research, teaching et. Biology lab consists of various specimens and equipment which one need to handle them with much care. A lab attendant assists the teachers in all the practical work so that materials required for each experiment is available. There are various materials and equipment available in the lab which include microscope, water bath, ovens, porcelain dishes, beakers, burners, various chemicals, dissection boxes etc. most of these materials are use often depending on the experiment the students perform. Specimens including plants and animals are referred mostly for identification and to study about their characteristic features. Microscope is mainly used for observing microorganisms, transverse section of plants and animals etc. charts and models are displayed in the laboratory for references and studies. Learning experience through experiments enhance their learning on theories and concept of various topics which also make the students to become more enthusiastic about the subject.

Science lab equipment allow students to solve problems and extract knowledge in the field of chemistry by interacting directly with the data gathered. They get a first-hand learning experience by performing various experiments on their own. Doing experiments in the lab can help students much better in understanding the topics that had been taught in theory classes. It has also been found that our school science lab equipment and supplies can make teaching and learning easy both for the teachers as well as for the students. Models, chemistry, science kits can make it easy to understand the complex theories of science. Students will develop interests in scientific research in science labs, if they get to observe various things and carry out different experiments that would help them in enhancing their skills and knowledge deeply on those theories and concepts of various topics. Thus, we can say that schools play a vital role in bringing up our students to fulfil their career in the field of learning. Therefore, to conclude schools must have the latest science lab supplies and equipment in order to make science interesting and effective for students and also to encourage them to make significant contributions in different branches of science i.e., Physics, Chemistry, Biology and other related fields of science later in life.

In order to have a smooth functioning of the experiments performed in the laboratory, the following lab equipment list are needed in chemistry lab:

Beakers: These ideal equipment are used for mixing chemicals dissolve or stir solutions, heat or cool down liquids or doing a water bath.

Funnels and Reagent Bottles: These will be required when working on experiments that involve liquids.

Conical Flasks: This lab equipment can be used for heating purpose, doing titration where we want to stir or shake any liquid solutions.

Test Tubes: These can be used to conduct experiments that require a chemical reaction or to hold science samples for later use.

Burettes and Pipettes: These apparatuses are used to transfer very small quantities of liquid in order to get at accurate result of the amount of liquid. They are used in titration where pipettes are needed to suck any liquids solution and burettes to pour any solution in order to find out the quantity needed in that particular solution.

Burners/Spirit lamps: Since many experiments involved heating, melting, boiling or burning, therefore burners or spirit lamps are mainly used.
