School Patron Saints
Patron saint, is a saint to whose protection and intercession a person, a society, a church, or a place is dedicated. The choice of selecting a patron saint is often made on the basis of some real or presumed relationship with the persons or places involved.
The Patron Saint of our School is St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, who was born on 22nd July 1647 at L’hautecour, Duchy of Burgundy, Kingdom of France. Since her early childhood Margaret showed intense love for the Blessed Sacrament, and preferred silence and prayer to childish amusement. Owing to a number of extraordinary favours received through her intercession and having considered her fame and Holiness Pope Benedict XV canonized her as a Saint of the Church. Her feast day is celebrated on 16th October since she passed away on that Day at the age of 43 at Paray-leMonail, Kingdom of France. The School is named as St. Margaret as a sign of gratitude to the benefactor of the MSMHC Congregation, Mr. Charlie Dela Nongerede, whose wife’s name is Margaret.
